Animarii

These are the smaller ones. The bee, the squirrel, the rabbit, the snake — the creatures that live at the edges of our attention, that cross our paths and are gone before we think to look properly. Animarii is a 12-piece collection of original oil paintings dedicated to them: animal spirit guides, each one chosen from a carefully researched lineage of cross-cultural wisdom traditions, each one reimagined in a world beyond this one — on other planets, in other dimensions, in skies that have never known a threat.

Every animal in this series carries ancient knowledge. Every tradition that has ever paid attention to the natural world has found in these creatures a teacher: the bee who navigates by light we cannot see, the koi who becomes a dragon by refusing to stop, the moth who has navigated by starlight since before we named the stars. Animarii does not invent this significance. It restores it — in oil, on paper, at the intimate scale of something you could hold in your hands.

The reimagining is intentional. These animals exist here as they were always meant to exist: complete, luminous, and safe from harm. In a world that has not been kind to small things, these paintings are an act of witness and of refuge — a collector’s record of creatures who deserve to be seen properly, once, in full.

Animarii is the first series in a growing universe. It will not be the last.
