The Whale Shark is the largest fish on Earth — vast, ancient, unhurried — and yet she feeds on the smallest things the ocean contains. She has existed largely unchanged for millions of years, long enough to have watched entire species rise and fall around her. She is not impressed. She was here first.

In this painting she tears through a portal of cosmic fire — a ring of gold and lightning splitting the darkness around her, a planet hanging in the deep below, everything in the universe reorganizing itself around her passage. This is the largest canvas in the Animarii Unzipped collection. It carries the presence this creature demands.

Below, a genuine metal zipper creates the illusion of the world peeling back — frozen at the moment of reveal — deep blue and purple built up in layers beneath the seam, genuine glass and micro beads embedded in the surface, purple foil catching the light, collage fragments from other worlds pressed into the texture. The threshold between what is and what lies beyond has never looked more real.
